Nellie Beatty Room Guidelines

The Whittemore Library is aware of the need for accommodations for groups in the borough. By making a meeting room available, the Library is able to provide a valuable service to the community.

The Nellie Beatty Room provides a twenty foot screen, projector, and wrap-around sound, and Internet access. Maximum capacity is 75.

The following guidelines govern the use of the Nellie Beatty Room:

I.    The Library maintains its facilities primarily for Library-related programs.  These programs may be sponsored or co-sponsored by the Library in order to fulfill its mission to provide educational, informational and recreational opportunities for the community.

II.    The room may be used by non-profit organizations at no charge providing such use does not interfere with Library functions and takes place during Library hours of operation.

III.    Acceptance will be on a first come, first served basis.

IV.    Applications for meetings held during Library hours must be made one week in advance. Applications must be approved by the Director.

V.     Applications for meetings after Library hours must be made two weeks in advance, and will require approval of the Director.

VI.    The application will name an adult who will be responsible for any or all damage to the building, facilities and equipment.

VII.    Audio-visual equipment is available and must be operated by Library Staff.

VIII.  The appropriate donation must be made by the day of the room rental. (See accompanying form.)

IX.    There is no smoking in the Library.

X.     The Library reserves the right to refuse the use of the meeting room.

XI.    Failure to follow guidelines will result in revocation of use of the room.

XII.    Permission to use the meeting room does not in any way constitute or imply an endorsement of the beliefs, policies, or programs of the group using the room by any Library official or by the Board of Trustees.
