Adult Services plans a variety of events, programs, and outreach to keep area residents entertained, educated, and informed. Check our calendar often to see what we’ve got coming up for both one-time and recurring programs.

Adult Services is located on the library’s main floor and is entered by the building’s original Church Street front entrance rotunda and the accessible side door adjacent to the Town Hall. Patrons will find the circulating collection and the reference collection consisting primarily of local history, genealogy, and frequently used dictionaries, encyclopedias, and almanacs on this floor. To best serve our community, the selection of materials is constantly evolving to provide up-to- date information, current tastes, and most-requested items. Our Reading Room features a quieter area to peruse magazines, newspapers, and its grand piano figures prominently in music events throughout the year.

Computers are available for free for members and visitors with proper identification- a small charge is required for printing. Additionally, fax service, vending-operated photocopying, and scanning are available for nominal fees. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building for your laptops and mobile devices. Test proctoring will be provided by prior arrangement.

“Your Community Connection” features frequently-changing special interest displays and monthly art exhibits on the Whittemore Gallery Wall. Display racks located near the Circulation desk hold brochures and flyers designed to keep patrons informed about library-sponsored programs and local cultural, educational, and social service events and services. A staff-maintained bulletin board announces community events.

Please ask our knowledgeable staff in Circulation and Reference about our services, recommendations, and assistance with our office equipment and technology.
